I’ve read and watched many explanations of anima/animus possession over the years and this is the first that actually makes sense! Thank you!

Integration is the key, not fragmentation.

I find it really cute how western philosophy is still trying to wrap their head around this thing.

Consider pure masculine as an untainted mirror and pure feminine as a that which is seeing itself in the mirror. We have an active awareness and a passive awareness. Active is feminine, passive is masculine.

The self actualisation isn’t about “taking out” either - but perfecting both, in its fullest and divine form. Human, regardless of physical gender, is a combination of both in different ratios. The idea is to perfect both paradigm to become “complete”.

The easiest and most practical way to identity this active and passive awareness is when we are exercising, rigorously, and body goes into a rhythm - that’s when active subdues and passive can be sensed. Most athletes know this. And that passive is pure Masculine self. And as you’re reading or I’m writing this, is active self, that’s pure Feminine self. Active needs to reflect upon passive to know itself. And passive has to allow active to express itself without judgement. This is the process. My God Jung. Everyone has to invent their own semantics.

Why is masculine passive to you and feminine active?

There is no answer to “why” for this, this is “how it is”. It’s the construct of Jivatma - soul component. Most people mistake femininity and masculinity as female and male, it’s not the case. Consider masculine as “unconditional lover” and feminine as “beloved”. So passive awareness, which is a construct of our dual awareness, is always watching on our active awareness. Unconditional love expressed as untrained mirror reflection.

These words won’t mean anything really until you sense both yourself. Have you ever heard about the “nothing box” which Mark Gungor used to talk about? That’s the passive self to which a typical male goes into whenever there is too much mental issues to resolve, to reflect upon self and find answers to their suffering.

Both male and female have access to it. Passive is “reflection”. Active is “action”.

Having said that, I can explain “why” but it goes out of standard English vocabs and goes into esoteric knowledge, which is very difficult to describe just by words.

What comes from the male residing within their passive self to resolve issues? What does it look like once the issues are resolved?

Let’s use the term masculine instead of male just to pinpoint what is being told here. So the work of passive awareness is to watch and reflect over the active. So as you walk, speak, respond or react to life events, introspect or just suffer emotionally - do that with full surrender. A “surrender” is very easy to understand with analogy of “loosening yourself”. We have habit to become rigid whenever we are in pain, but what should be done is - let the pain and suffering release itself and “rise”. As it rises, while your active is trying to not become rigid attentively - the passive starts to reflect over your emotions. That’s the moment your suffering starts to drop, because you start to see the sub conscious and later even unconscious becoming available for the conscious to see. Active - seeing self reflection - reflected over passive.

Over time, your issues resolve as you find root causes - they don’t come back again and again, like usually it does with conventional process of suffering. This is the core process of freeing yourself without any third party. God has given us all the instruments - we are created by God’s image.

Feel free to ask more if not clear enough. It isn’t too easy to differentiate between the two, because we mix and watch everything from both. Any kind of exercise, or activity you love, even that be dancing or cooking or painting - anything, you can use that. When we are doing any activity happily, the active awareness is quiet and “involved” in activity, you can sense at that moment that passive awareness working locationally from back of your head, watching it over. That’s the divine masculine.

One last thing I forgot to mention in this context. The active is Feminine. We are all Feminine essentially. Take it like this, we are the divine Feminine who chose to “forget” our sovereignty, came to the world (Matrix or Illusion or Maya whatever you sense best), live through the suffering caused by ignorances (result of forgetting) only to find our true Self through reflection. Hence we are always looking for something to reflect on, we are looking for love, that book, that motivational line or just meditate.

“Why” do all that? Well, I won’t tell you that, because it’s for you to find out one day. That’s the game. It’s all a “play”. So play with full involvement.

Interesting, but I'm not sure that anything comes exclusively from conscious personality. Consciousness is reason, and reason always needs something external from which to reason. Also, I'm a bit unclear as to why one would want to "free oneself" from one's anima/animus rather than to find a way to allow them to express themselves. That seems much healthier than trying to banish or suppress them.

I liked this a lot and found it to be very helpful, including the unexpanded point about a hermetic container. However, I don't know how to overcome a few of the root complications: when i see "Anima is the opposite of Animus" or any such definitions, I only ask, "Are they"? Or is it like saying apples are opposite of pretzels? Are they a polarized same, or are they different functions?

Same with the root "Anima" and "Animus", Yin and Yang, Male and Female. Can we define them at all? I don't mean in the stupid "What is a Woman?" way, but the description defies definition. At the ultimate, we are saying men cannot feel and woman cannot think, it is forbidden, which is not true. However, the opposite is often taken, claiming there are no clustering of trait between polarities, which we also know isn't true. Fine.

...But in between those two, what EXACTLY is the proportion has no solid form. Pudding has milk, flour, eggs, Bread or crackers have milk, flour, eggs, and the difference is only it proportions. But that's not helpful as ALL baking has milk, flour, eggs (in this metaphor) and there are a million unique recipes, each different, cultural, and recognizable. How do you pull signal out of noise? It's taking a million unique expressions and reducing them to two: I fear that probably erases or cartoonizes to a level too crude to be valuable.

Again, we all know Yin and Yang exist as a Universal polarity -- but trying to define "All things in the known Universe" is practically problematic and I can't find a way to grasp it accurately.

Why is there a question mark in the title? Are you asking us how to free yourself from a possession?

It's not complicated. All you have to do is face the truth about yourself and things start to shift. You don't have to post about it, you don't have to sing about it even though that wouldn't be a bad idea, you just have to look at it square in the eye. Look yourself square in the eye.
